Shiatsu For Horses Relaxation & Healing
For Body And Mind

The Courses are designed to enable you to give your horse a simple but effective whole body Shiatsu. It will enhance your ability to trust your intuitions and touch rather than spend a great deal of time addressing the academic side of Shiatsu. The therapy of Shiatsu will be discussed in the introduction of the course, which will help in gaining a greater understanding when practicing different qualities of touch.

During the courses you will:

  • Practice on each other, to get some feed back, before working on a horse.
  • Be taught to give your horse a pre-exercise warm-up to loosen off any stiffness.

As you become more aware of your horse's body, you will also become more aware of how exercise affects him. You will also be shown after-exercice care which will alleviate the effect of exercise. Many people also enjoy being able to spend time with their horse, giving them a thorough Shiatsu when, for instance, it's too wet or too dark to ride. They appreciate the extra bond it brings between horse and rider.

Because of the nature of Shiatsu and how it works, which will be explained, you will, in fact, be influencing your horse's body system in many ways which you will not realise. The digestive system, the immune system, in fact, all systems are affected when giving Shiatsu. Another benefit of Shiatsu will be the improvement of your own health.

If performed correctly, Shiatsu will help the giver as well as the reciever. Bad backs, sore shoulders and poor circulation are among the conditions which riders can improve by giving regular Shiatsu.
